ROGERS mobility - UNLOCKING service

If you hate rogers visit ihaterogers.ca

In regards to Cell Phone Freedom Act BILL C-560 - this is from summer of 2010 and has many great sections, today I am focusing on section 4 that states (summarized - see link or bottom for full):
"the provider shall, on the request of the consumer at any time after the service contract has expired, remove free of charge any network lock that has been applied to the telephone."

This is plain and simple, the SERVICE PROVIDER (yes you rogers!) MUST remove the NETWORK LOCK of the wireless device, cell phone after the device is paid for fully or the contract is up - same as paying for it fully.

This is called the Cell phone freedom act and rogers clearly doesn't believe in freedom, but unless they follow the laws of our great country they will be forced to LEAVE!

I'm sure many other Canadians agree that they have not only stepped over the lines and boundaries but they completely ignored any of them in order to make profit.

The official response from them was: "Rogers does not provide any unlocking codes or services. You would need to find a 3d party that unlocks phones. I apologize for any inconvenience."

This is simply unacceptable, if you provide LOCKING services then you MUST, by-the-law, also provide UNLOCKING services!

It's like a prison that never releases prisoners!

I'm very happy to not be with them any more but I do have phones that I want unlocked to use with the BETTER companies out there.

More information on the bill: Open Parliament -  Wikipedia
"If a consumer purchases a cellular telephone from a provider at a discounted price as a condition of entering into a service contract for the telephone with the provider, the provider shall, on the request of the consumer at any time after the service contract has expired, remove free of charge any network lock that has been applied to the telephone."

As with other companies out there, right now and for a long time ROGERS is a company to AVOID!

If Rogers is reading this you can contact me to resolve the issue.

Bell Mobility

At this time the info is failry limited but will be calling them tomorrow and will follow up on the results:
Over charging for internet in mobile devices should be a crime, $56/MB??? that's unbelievable and especially when you DIDN"T use the internet!!!

Fido charges $1 per day - pay per use, unlimited usage!!!

Learn a thing of two from fido and don't over charge and don't ignore the request to 1. reduce the cost, 2. DISABLE the internet at will!!

We have repeated asked to disable it from the NETWORK side and they claimed it is,,, but after a month we get extra 5 dollar ovarage, what the??

OK this may not seem like much money but we see some other charges will have to ask about so will get back about this tomorrow.

Right now,
BELL MOBILITY is one of the many THINGS TO AVOID

Unless you want to get this fixed you will stay that way bell, and lose all millions of readers of this blog - your customers and potential customers will no longer be.
Take us seriously bell, we are the ones paying you after all!
